Welcome to the Step-by-step Guide to Setting up Project Zomboid Server Manager

2. Naming Zip

Leave the file naming "PZservermanager.zip" the same. That name doesn't conflict with any steps to set up the application for usage.

3. Creating other folders

We are wanting to create two folders within this step:

First, we want a folder to hold the ZIP folder we acquired.

Secondly, we want a folder that can hold the Project Zomboid Server Manager and its additional (PZserver & SteamCMD) configuration folders.

4. Extracting Files

To extract the application in its new home directory within the folder we created (PZServerManager). That will allow us to continue the configuration by adding more infrastructure directories.

5. Move Zip / Delete Archive

Moving the ZIP file within the Installer folder to help with directory cleanliness. After using the archived copy of SteamCMD, you can delete the archive or move it to your recycle bin.

6. Infrastructure Folders

Want folders that can hold the additional files to run the server and its additional (PZserver & SteamCMD) configuration folders. The PZserver folder will hold the actual Project Zomboid server files and directory. The SteamCMD directory or folder will hold the application that interphases with Steam's Development Servers, holding the files for countless other servers. However, server specifications other than the Zomboid server are ignored by our application, and we call for a Validated copy of the server to be downloaded.

7. Windows Protected

We won't download the SteamCMD and Project Zomboid server files. The development team decided that it is more user-friendly to download those files for you. Before we can do that, we need to navigate to the "PZsm.exe" and start the application. The picture displayed for Step Seven is a warning window that Microsoft needs to ignore. As the development team, we need the proper licensing built into our application so that Windows Defender can cross-examine our application.

8. First Start

This is our application's look or display when unconfigured for server operation. Before moving forward, we need to navigate to the "PZsm Setting" navigation tab, where we can modify the Languages that are fleshed out more in step Nine. Where navigation is effective since we can read the labels.

9. Language Setting

Within the drop-down window that will automatically update once configured. We have the options as of version 2.4.4 for the following languages: RU is for Russian, EN is for English, and ES is for Spanish. Some search boxes throughout the application are locked as Russian labels; use software application knowledge-common sense or a Russian translation application when encountering a word not translating to English or Spanish.

11. Install SteamCMD

Having a directory specified, our application will install Steam CMD in that location specified. We recommend the server be stored in a folder labeled "SteamCMD," which will help our application understand if the integrity of SteamCMD is there to proceed to other operations performed by our application.
